Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made 2 ambulance runs Friday, two Saturday and seven Sunday.

EMS was on standby at Friday’s football game.

On Sunday, firefighters responded to a possible fire after someone smelled smoke at Acme Scrap, 700 Frey Street at 1:19 p.m. They found someone using a torch to cut apart metal. There was no uncontrolled fire.

Someone called to report a gas smell in the 2500 block of 16th Street at 6:47 p.m. Sunday. Nothing was found.


Great Bend Police

Theft of a cellphone was reported Friday morning at The University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus, 514 Cleveland St.

Criminal threats were reportedly made Friday at City Hall.

Police received a stalking report.

Theft of a license plate was reported at 19th and Monroe.

A search warrant was executed at 12:54 p.m. Friday at Holiday Apartments, 5210 10th St. No. 14.

A two-vehicle non-injury crash was reported at 4:10 p.m. Friday at Braum’s, 4209 10th St.

A case was taken at 2:33 a.m. Saturday during a traffic stop at 10th and Morphy for possession of marijuana.

A burglary was reported Saturday morning at Joe Farris Rentals, 3410 Lakin Ave., after it was discovered that items had been stolen from a motor vehicle.

An individual reported fraud cases at Kwik Shop 753, 3907 Broadway Ave.; Walmart, 3503 10th St.; and Walgreens, 3920 10th St.

Theft of Halloween decorations was reported Saturday evening at 2822 17th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:28 a.m. Sunday at 2220 Harrison St. A male was arrested for driving under the influence.

Someone reportedly kicked the door and threw a pumpkin at 2:19 a.m. Sunday at 1200 Jefferson St.

A domestic battery was reported at 2:28 a.m. and again at 3:09 a.m. Sunday at 312 Frey St. Both times, the suspect left prior to officers’ arrival.

A man was arrested at 2:34 a.m. Sunday at the car wash at 2312 10th St. on a Finney County warrant.

A non-injury, hit-and-run crash was reported at 10:15 a.m. at Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St.

A two-vehicle non-injury crash was reported at 1:03 p.m. at Burger King, 3929 10th St.

A two-vehicle non-injury crash was reported at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at Broadway and Harrison.

After responding to a report of a domestic dispute at 2:58 p.m. at 5501 9th St. Lot 51, police arrested a man on a charge of criminal threat.

Another agency located a vehicle previously reported stolen in Great Bend.

Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at 3:47 p.m. Sunday at 1819 Jefferson St. and arrested a man on charges of domestic assault and assault on a law enforcement officer.

At 11:09 p.m. Sunday, a man was arrested for reportedly walking in the roadway in the 4800 block of 10th while being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:22 p.m. Friday at 340 NE 5 Ave., Great Bend.

A search warrant was executed at 7:53 p.m. Friday at Southside Mobile Home Park, 503 S. Humbolt Ave. 23, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:55 p.m. in the 400 block of North U.S. 281.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:36 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of NW 190 Road, Olmitz.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:38 a.m. in the 300 block of South U.S. 281, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:42 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of NW 120 Ave., Otis.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:52 p.m. at NE 160 Ave. and NE 140 Road, Clafin.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:41 a.m. Sunday at County Road 350 and Ave. L, Otis.

An injury crash was reported at 5:34 p.m. Sunday at K-19 and NW 20th Ave., outside of the county.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:07 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of NE 30 Road, Great Bend.
