Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made seven ambulance runs on Thursday. A false alarm of a structure fire was received at 7:29 p.m.


Great Bend Police

An individual reported Thursday that an unknown subject had used his debit card without permission at McDonald’s and ADYZ Liquor.

At 1:50 p.m. Thursday, an officer attempted to arrest Nelson Adams Jr. at Kwik Shop 53 on Broadway on a Barton County warrant. Adams fled but was later located at arrested at 2:33 p.m. in the area of Forest Ave. and McKinley St. He was booked on the outstanding charges and released. A case was taken for interference with a law enforcement officer.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:47 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Madison St.

Police responded to a disturbance call at 6:38 p.m. at 5812 Hemlock Drive. Xavier Carey was arrested for criminal restraint and released after posting bond.

An injury crash was reported at 8:05 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School, 5630 Broadway Ave.

At 8:53 p.m., Shannon Walker was arrested at Lincoln Elementary on charges of aggravated battery while driving under the influence, felony DUI, driving with a revoked license and illegal transportation of liquor. Walker was booked in at the Barton County Detention Center around 8 a.m. Friday.
