An Abilene man was taken to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital with possible injuries last Monday, April 12, after the truck he was driving crashed on K-156, 3.1 miles east of 275th in Pawnee County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Zachary Humphreys, 36, was driving a 1997 Kenworth three-axel tractor pulling a Wilson trailer. There was another truck tractor-trailer in front of him that was slowing down for the railroad tracks. Humphreys was unprepared to stop, slammed on the brakes and went into the north ditch. He was taken to the hospital after complaining of pain. He was not wearing a safety restraint.
