Two injured in Pawnee County collision

Two people were taken to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned on Monday, after their vehicles collided on K-156 near the U.S. 183 junction.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jimmy Dunkel, 55, Scott City, was driving a 1982 Ford passenger car and Antoinette Kay Dreher, 49, La Crosse, was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi passenger car. Both were westbound at 2:53 p.m. when Dunkel pulled onto the shoulder, then made a U-turn in front of Dreher, causing the accident.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

Great Bend Police

A burglary at 2912 Broadway Ave. was reported Monday. Someone stole a battery charger and air compressor from a garage. Loss was $124.

Juan Diaz was backing from a parking stall in the 1800 block of 24th St. at 11:37 a.m. Monday and struck a vehicle driven by Robert Robinson. The sheriff’s office worked the accident.

Joshua Fredrick was driving north on McKinley St. at 3:20 p.m. Monday and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Thelma Brack, which was stopped in traffic.

Barton County Sheriff

A truck hit a deer at NE 230 Road and NE 110 Ave. at 7:50 a.m. Monday.

An attempted burglary at 601 Patton Road, Great Bend, was reported Monday. There was damage to an entrance door.

A burglary at 395 North U.S. 281 was reported Monday. Property was damages and some items taken.

A vehicle hit a deer in the 300 block of SE 60 Ave. at 9 p.m. Monday.

A vehicle hit a deer on North U.S. at NW 190 Road at 9:35 p.m. Monday.
