Two teens hurt in rollover

 

Two teenagers from Russell were taken to Russell Regional Hospital following a rollover accident at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, just west of the Four Corners Road junction with 182nd Ave. (or about 3.8 miles south and 3.1 miles west of the Interstate 70/U.S. 281 junction at Russell). Kansas Highway Patrol reports Allison Summer Davis, 16, was driving a 1987 Nissan, headed east on Four Corners Road, when she lost control on sand. The car entered the south ditch, where it rolled a minimum of two times, coming to rest on its roof. She was wearing a seat belt.

Passenger Miranda Kay Clark, 17, was later to be flown to Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita. The highway patrol reports she was not wearing a seat belt.

A spokesman for Via Christi on Monday said Clark had since been released.

 

Passenger injured in Barton County collision

 

A Lyons woman riding in a Volvo was injured when the car collided with a motor home, around 6:55 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. 56/K-156 junction east of Great Bend, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The Volvo was driven by David Crawford, 24, of Lyons, and Lisa Millison, 36, was the passenger. Billie Cain, 80, from Jacksonville, Fla., was driving a 1995 Allegra motor home and began to make a left-hand turn at the junction, in front of the westbound Volvo. Crawford swerved to the left but could not completely avoid the motor home, striking the rear bumper. Millison was transported to Central Kansas Medical Center by Great Bend Ambulance. She was treated for head injuries and released.

 

Car hits cows in Ellsworth Co.

 

Two people were injured when a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am struck two cows in the roadway at 10:30 p.m. Friday in Ellsworth County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Scott W. Laskey, 22, from Garden City, was the driver. The car was eastbound on K-156, 9.2 miles east of K-4. He and passenger Brittney S. Kienbaum, 20, from Colorado Springs, Colo., were taken to Ellsworth County Hospital. Laskey was not wearing a seat belt; Kienbaum was.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Two guns and some ammunition were reportedly stolen from the residence at 36 NW 120 Ave., possibly on Friday.

 

Great Bend Police

A torn screen at 5926 Eisenhower Ave. Apt. 9 was reported Friday.

Mauro Moreno was driving west on 19th St. near Washington at 3:10 p.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Shacha Sandoval that was stopped in traffic, also westbound on 19th.

A $30.02 gas skip involving a gold PT Cruiser at 1315 10th St. was reported at 5:11 p.m. Friday.

A motorist in a black Neon reportedly drove away from 2334 Main without paying for fuel at 5:16 p.m. Friday.

A broken window at 400 Almond St. was reported at 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

A vehicle driven by Chris Feist struck a house at 1805 Oakmont Ave. at 3:08 a.m. Saturday.

A broken window at 301 10th St. was reported at 4:18 a.m. Saturday.

Someone broke the handle on the front door at 2808 27th St., is was reported Saturday evening.

Theft of a bike from 3101 Washington was reported at 2:29 a.m. Sunday.

A shotgun was found in the street in the 800 block of Kansas Ave. on Sunday morning. It was booked as found property.

A Ford Focus at 1437 Lakin Ave. was egged, it was discovered Sunday morning. A case was taken after the owner reported damage to the paint.

Thaine Francis was driving north in the 3900 block of McKinley St. at 3 p.m. Sunday and struck a vehicle driven by Tiffany Scott that was also northbound, slowing in traffic.

A backpack containing keys and a jacket was stolen from 3503 10th St., it was reported Sunday.

Sarah Dresher was backing south in the 1000 block of Warner Road at 8:11 p.m. Sunday and struck a parked vehicle.

Theft of a Tom Tom-brand GPS and bank papers from a vehicle at 3920 10th St. was reported Sunday.

Firefighters made four ambulance runs Friday, three Saturday and six Sunday.
