Great Bend Police
A Great Bend resident reported someone stealing one of her personal checks, and reported a check forgery in Oklahoma.
A counterfeit $20 bill was reportedly received in the deposit at 2716 10th St.
A complaint was made Wednesday afternoon of a suspected shoplifter at Walmart, but it was not served due to the suspect being transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with medical problems.
Tallan Smith was driving west in the 3200 block of 10th St. at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday and struck a vehicle driven by Tahcoa Pelster that was also westbound but stopped in traffic.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a pickup parked on Pine St., it was reported Wednesday.
Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Wednesday. There were no fires.
Ellinwood Fire Department
Firefighters checked the area of SE 50 Road and SE 90 Ave. shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday when a "very strong odor of propane" was reported in the vicinity of several trailer houses. A well was being "bled off" and no further action was required.
Barton County Sheriff
A trash/dumping complaint was made Wednesday. A bunch of lumber with nails in it, furniture, tires and other trash had been dumped in the 800 block of SW 20 Road, blocking the roadway.
