A rural Stafford County woman was injured when a vehicle she was driving rolled south of Great Bend Friday morning.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, at approximately 8:39 a.m. Friday, BCSO deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash in the 300 block of SE 20 Road, southeast of Great Bend. Upon arrival, officers located a white 2004 Ford F-250 resting on its driver’s side.

nvestigation at the scene indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on SE 20 Road when it left the roadway on the south side. According to Bellendir, it appears the driver, identified as 57-year-old Lesha Webster of rural Stafford County,  overcorrected entering the north ditch and overturned. Investigation at the scene indicates Webster was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Webster was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Bellendir indicated excessive speed may have been a contributing factor in the accident.

Webster was transported to the University of Kansas Health Systems - Great Bend Campus and later transferred to a Wichita area hospital by aircraft with unspecified injuries. BCSO was assisted at the scene by the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Great Bend Fire and EMS.
