A Great Bend man reported the theft of his 1983 Buick from his home at 701 Holland St. at 1:17 a.m. Sunday. He said he ran after it and last saw the car headed south.
The Great Bend Police Department and Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded.
The car was later located by a Kansas Highway Patrol officer in Stafford County. Timothy Galliart of Larned was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail on a theft charge, with bond set at $5,000. He was also booked on a Pawnee County warrant for theft, with bond again set at $5,000.
