The Great Bend Police Department announced Thursday that a handgun was located submerged at Stone Lake earlier in the week. According to Chief Steve Haulmark, the Great Bend Fire/EMS Department Dive Team was assisting the GBPD with an unrelated investigation at the lake and located the submerged firearm. Haulmark said they currently have no further information on the gun or what it may be connected to, but he said the department has begun an investigation into the firearm and its presence at the lake.
