Three injured in crash on U.S. 281 Tuesday

Three area residents were injured in a two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 281 at the Pratt-Stafford County line.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 16-year-old Ovalle Jennifer Franco of Lyons was eastbound on SW 90th Road shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday and failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 281. The 2014 Ford Fusion Franco was driving was struck in the middle of the intersection by a 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette driven by 54-year-old Michelle Tucker of Stafford, which was southbound on U.S. 281.

KHP reports both drivers were transported to Pratt Regional Medical Center, with Tucker’s injuries believed to be serious, while Franco was believed to have only suffered minor injuries. KHP reported a second occupant in the Silhouette, 60-year-old Mark L. Tucker, also of Stafford, was also transported to PRMC with possible serious injuries.

All three individuals were properly seat belted at the time of the crash.
