A traffic stop sometime around 10:50 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Avenue G in Rice County resulted in two arrests on narcotics charges, Rice County Undersheriff Chad Murphy said.

Two people were initially detained and a third suspect fled on foot. Barton County and Pawnee County law enforcement were contacted and assisted in the search, along with the K-9 unit from the Great Bend Police Department. The suspect was not located.

Murphy said the investigation is ongoing.

Shawn Epp from Alden and Frank Brough from Kinsley were booked into the Rice County Detention Center early Saturday on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and interference with a law enforcement officer. Both were released Saturday after posting bond.
