Two motorists were transported to the hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries Friday after a crash in Ellsworth County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:38 p.m. Friday on K-156 at the K-14 Junction. A 2019 Kia Stinger driven by Heather Renae Cave, 47, of Newton was southbound on K-14, stopped at the stop sign at the junction, and then proceeded through the intersection. At the same time, a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by Dalton Q. Hoffman, 19, of Kanopolis, was northeast-bound on K-156 and struck the passenger side of the Kia. Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch on the southeast corner of the intersection. Both were taken to the Ellsworth County Medical Center.
Both were wearing seat belts before the crash.
