Two people were injured Wednesday when a sport utility vehicle and a cargo van collided at 8:41 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue X and County Road 370 in Rush County. An Otis man was taken to the hospital with suspected serious injury and a Timken woman received what were believed to be minor injuries.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports that Cheryl L. Conrad, 69, of Timken was driving south on the county road and failed to stop at a stop sign. The 2013 Chevrolet Equinox she was driving struck a 2015 Ford Transit van driven by Robert J. Trapp, 49, of Otis. The van came to rest in the east ditch of 370 Road facing south.

The report does not show that Conrad was transported to a medical facility, but Trapp was taken to The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus and his vehicle was removed by Marshall Towing. Conrad had been wearing a seat belt and Trapp had not.
