KHP patch

Two people from Wichita were taken to Ellsworth Medical Center after a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed a truck Saturday morning on Interstate 70, one mile west of the K-156 Junction in Ellsworth County.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports the suspected injuries were minor in the 8:58 a.m. crash. The 2002 Ford F-150 was driven by Chantrielle Porter, 21, and the passenger was Derrick Cottner, 35. Both were wearing seat belts. The truck was eastbound when it drifted into the median, struck a drainage berm and went airborne before coming to rest on the passenger side facing west.
