Vehicle hits deer in Stafford County

Two people were taken to the Stafford County Hospital with possible injuries Thursday morning after a 2021 Nissan Sentra hit a deer on U.S. 50 in Stafford County.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 6:61 a.m., 2.75 miles east of the U.S. 50 junction with U.S. 281. Jerold D. Lorence, 62, from Minneapolis, Kansas, was driving. He and passenger Cynthia M. Thomas, 63, from Larned, both had complaints of pain. Both were wearing seat belts.
