Duchess Kate gave a powerful speech this week about motherhood while promoting her upcoming series of educational films, according to The Huffington Post.

The series, which comes from the charity Best Beginnings, covers topics like mental health, pregnancy and postpartum depression, The HuffPost reported.

The former Kate Middleton launched the series with a talk about what it means to be a mother.

Personally, becoming a mother has been such a rewarding and wonderful experience, she said, according to The HuffPost. However, at times it has also been a huge challenge, even for me who has support at home that most mothers do not.

She also said theres nothing comparable to becoming a mother. Duchess Kate and her husband, Prince William, have two children George, 3, and Charlotte, 1, according to The HuffPost.

Nothing can really prepare you for you the sheer overwhelming experience of what it means to become a mother, she said. It is full of complex emotions of joy, exhaustion, love and worry all mixed together. Your fundamental identity changes overnight. You go from thinking of yourself as primarily an individual, to suddenly being a mother, first and foremost.
