Parents who feel daunted by social media, take note. Former professional football player Deion Sanders showed how it's done this week on Twitter.

The NFL Hall of Famer took his son, Southern Methodist University wide receiver Deion Sanders Jr., to task when Jr. claimed to have street cred for only eating "hood donuts," or donuts from a shop located in "the hood."

"Gotta get the hood donuts almost every morning," Sanders Jr. tweeted.

Sanders hopped on Twitter to put Jr. in his place, tweeting that, "You're a Huxtable with a million $ trust fund stop the hood stuff."

Sanders Jr. quickly retweeted his father's comments rather than getting angry or lashing out.

It was a funny moment that won both Sanders men a spot on the trending list, with ESPN reporting, "Deion Sanders wins at parenting" and the Huffington Post quipping, "Deion Sanders is such a dad."

Given the sports world's recent headline-grabbing debate about accusations of child abuse and domestic violence, the Sanders Twitter exchange is a welcome reminder of good parenting.

"The Pro Football Hall of Famer obviously has this whole dad thing under control," ESPN reported.
