TINY TOWN As I walked through one this week, I had a discussion with one of my friends about what it was that made me excited to browse through every trinket inside a museum, visitor center or monument gift shop.

The conclusion I came to was that as a little girl, I loved seeing things done in miniature. Tiny spoons, small replicas of famous places and other teensy items were so intriguing to me, maybe because they were my size or maybe because I worried I wouldnt be able to remember that day without it.

One Instagrammer with 150,000 followers really indulges everyones love of tiny things by sculpting especially small pots on a miniature wheel.

Jon Almeda or almedapottery on Instagram makes what he calls small scale ceramics and posts them on his Instagram page. Not only that, but Almeda has made a device that will allow him to accomplish this seemingly impossible task by creating The Curio Wheel.

According to his website, it took Almeda a year of prototype development to create The Curio Wheel, which includes a German motor, die cast enclosure and 2-inch aluminum wheel head. The whole thing is designed to plug directly into a 110V outlet and sells for $295, though they are currently sold out.

Almeda also has a YouTube channel, and in the attached video, you can see him work his magic up close. Its all the technique involved in creating full sized pottery, but at a fraction of the size and with an incredibly delicate touch.
