Casual outings and everyday activities have been off-limits for the Obama family for the past six years.
In a video clip posted Tuesday, Stephen Colbert interviewed Michelle Obama on "The Late Show" and asked her what her post-White House plans entail.
The first lady said she is most excited to do simple tasks like opening a window, going to Target and driving.
"I also want to do little things, like, you know, open a window," she told Colbert.
With the help of her husband, she also plans to continue her 62 Million Girls campaign, which promotes education for young women around the world.
"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m.
