In the 2012 Olympic games in London, beach volleyball champion Kerri Walsh Jennings had a lot to celebrate. Not only did she win a gold medal and enjoy an embrace by her husband and two sons, but unbeknownst to the cheering crowd Walsh Jennings was also pregnant.
In a video uploaded by NBC Olympics, Walsh Jennings said she was born to do two things: have babies and play volleyball.
With three children, now ages 7, 6 and 3, she and her husband are constantly sprinting. At 37, Walsh Jennings is both a world-class athlete and a busy parent.
Every time she leaves town, whether its for two days or two weeks, shes in tears. She doesnt ever want to leave the kids, her husband, Casey Jennings, said in the video.
Representing the United States in beach volleyball, she and her partner, April Ross, are scheduled to compete against Brazil on Tuesday night in the womens semifinals.
"I'm combining what I've I always wanted to be, which is a working mom, a loving wife and a kick-butt athlete, Walsh Jennings said.
