Tufts University's possible decision to cut 35 janitors has been anything but clean.
Students from Tufts University protested with current janitors and their families against the school's rumored budget cuts that could eliminate 35 janitorial positions over the next few weeks, according to NECN, a local news station in Massachusetts.
Some students elected to camp out in the universitys quad, while others participated in a hunger strike all to help these janitors keep their jobs, NECN reported.
"It's going to affect their families," said Roxana Rivera, leader of Service Employees International Union, which represents the janitorial staff. "They're not going to be able to put food on the table, they're not going to be able to make rent at the end of the day."
