BENNINGTON — Alan K. Jurgensmeier, 29, died Oct. 3, 2016.
Born Feb. 11, 1987, in Salina he was the son of Charles and Kristine (Wagner) Jurgensmeier. In 2005 he graduated from Bennington High School. He then attended DeVry University before enlisting in the Army Reserves. Alan served for eight years and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Survivors include his parents, Charlie and Kris Jurgensmeier; two daughters Destiny and Annabella; two sisters, Amy Zeigler and husband Andy and Ashley Harclerode and husband Aaron; grandmothers, Joan Jurgensmeier and Jean Wagner; and his brothers at heart, David and Nick Swetson.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Eugene Jurgensmeier and Verner Wagner.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Bennington Bible Church. Burial will be in the Bennington Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be left in care of the funeral home.
