Alan Woydziak 1952-2014

LITTLETON, CO — Alan John Woydziak, 61, died June 28 at Swedish Medical Center, Denver, Colo.  Born Nov. 18, 1952 at Great Bend, he was the son of Edwin and Elfrieda (Lang) Woydziak.
Alan married Beth Miller November 26, 1977, at Claflin. She survives.  He was a graduate of Ft. Hays State University. A telecommunication engineer, Mr. Woydziak was a Colorado resident for 36 years.
Alan was a member of Light of the World Catholic Parish, Littleton, Colo., and the Knights of Columbus.  He loved life and lived each moment to the fullest. His motto, ‘let’s  make memories,’ was something he lived by everyday.  Alan spent over 18 years in the oil and gas industry and 21 years in telecommunications but always made time for his passions and true loves in life: his family, friends and especially grandchildren.  Alan loved traveling the world but his favorite places were the Colorado mountain towns of  Vail and Beaver Creek.  Alan approached his life in simple and genuine terms that centered around love for his family and joys in life. Both him and his wife Beth strove to live by the mantra “This is my life. Today is my best day. I will never have this moment again.” He will be missed so much.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Woydziak, of the home; one son, Jonathan Woydziak of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters: Lindsey Bye and husband Christopher of Greenwood Village, Colo. and Whitney Rotolo and husband Michael of Denver, Colo.; his mother, Elfrieda Woydziak, Claflin; one sister, Bonnie Burkhart and her husband Jerry of Boulder, Colo.; three grandchildren: Brynn and Alexander Bye, and baby Rotolo; and 17 surviving in-laws.  He was preceded in death by his father and by his sister, Betty Thompson.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Claflin, officiated by Rev. John Forkuoh.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Interment will be at Claflin Cemetery, Claflin.  Memorials are suggested to the Alan Woydziak Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
