ST. JOHN — Alberta Mae Milton-Trujillo, age 84, passed away on Jan. 2, 2019, at Kenwood Plaza, St. John, Kan. She was born on Sept. 28, 1934 at Preston, Kan., and was the daughter of Albert Leslie and Velma Mae (Sowers) Smith. Alberta was a homemaker and life-long resident of St. John, Kan., and Truth or Consequences, N.M. She also was a cook for St. John Schools, St. John District Hospital, Hearthstone Nursing Home, Barton and Pratt Community Colleges.  

On Aug. 28, 1963, she married Ivan “Bud” Milton at St. John; he preceded her in death in 1994. On March 9, 1996, she married Jerry O. Trujillo at St. John; he preceded her in death in 2006.  

She was a member of the Country Sam’s Club.  

Survivors include her daughter, Sonja Staab (Conrad), Russell, Kan.; two sons, Bill Milton (Tammy), St. John, Kan., Ivan Milton (Lisa), Hudson, Kan.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her extended family in Truth or Consequences, N.M.  

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Trinity Community Church, Hudson, Kan., with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, Kan. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 1-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, St. John, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House or Trinity Community Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
