WILSON — Albina J. Mattas, 100, died Aug. 19, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Wilson.
Born Feb. 15, 1913 in Timken she was the daughter of John Oborny and Josephine Jedlicka. On April 11, 1934 she married Ernest Mattas Sr. A resident of Timken, moving to the Wilson area when she married, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mattas was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson.
Survivors include a son, Richard Mattas, Mt. Vernon, Mo.; two daughters, Emily Powell, Ravena, N.Y. and JoAnn Whitmer, Ellsworth; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; and a son, Ernest Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Henry Baxa officiating. Burial will be at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or Golden Living Center in Wilson.
