FT. DODGE Alexander Rodie, Jr., 81, died Oct. 28 at Kansas Soldiers’ Home at Ft. Dodge.  Born Aug. 20, 1932, at Timken, he was the son of Alexander, Sr. and Clara (Scheuerman) Rodie.
 Alexander married JoAnne Johnson of Oakley.  They were later divorced. He worked for Oakley IGA as a grocer.  Mr. Rodie was a Ft. Dodge, Kansas resident since 1996 coming from Oakley.  He served in the U.S. Army.  
Survivors include one brother, Richard Rodie and wife Virginia of Ness City, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon Rodie, Wayne Rodie, and Robert Rodie.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Otis Lutheran Cemetery, Otis, with military honors. Rev. Bruce Adamson will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:00 am to 9:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas Soldiers’ Home Ft.
