WICHITA — Alice Arlene Metcalf, 79, retired co-owner/operator of Kansas Dune Buggy and VW Specialties, died Oct. 27, She was preceded in death by her husband Harold "Red" and grandson Adam Wayne Sharp.

Survivors: children, Donnella (Mike) Lawson of Wichita, Lyndel (Clint) Walker of Hesston, Kathie (Charles) Sharp of Great Bend, Monty (Ruby) Metcalf of Wichita, Sonja (John) Vogt of Wichita; brother, Harold G. Wood of Wheatfield, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Garden Room at Prairie Homestead, 1637 May. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at Meridian Avenue Baptist Church, 200 N. Meridian. Memorials may be made to Meridian Avenue Baptist Church. Honoring Arlene’s request, her body has been donated to the KU Medical Center.
