Alice Marie Walker 1938 - 2020

VALLEY CENTER — Alice Marie Walker, 82, of Valley Center, Kan., formerly of Great Bend died July 24, 2020 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kan. She was born Jan. 27, 1938 in Bethoud, Colo. to Theodor (Ted) Schulte and Cecelia Margaret Lederhos Mermis. She grew up in Gorham, Kan. area and graduated from Gorham Rural High School in 1957. She then attended Brown Mackie Business College in Salina, Kan. She was united in marriage to Jack V. Richardson in Salina, Kan. and later married Dean A. Walker. She went on to become Vice President of First State and First National Bank in Salina. She owned and operated a collection company in Salina, Kan. for many years. Alice enjoyed bowling, boating, playing cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Alice was also an accomplished pilot. Alice was happiest when she was watching baseball and motocross.  

Alice is survived family include son Scott Richardson (wife Diana) of Dallas Texas, son Bruce Richardson (wife Amy) of Valley Center, Kan.; two grandsons, Conner Richardson of Park City, Kan. and Colten Richardson of Valley Center, Kan.; one great grandson Rhett Richardson of Park City, Kan.; sister, Norma Kite of Great Bend, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dean Walker; two sisters; three bothers.  

Memorial graveside service to celebrate Alice life will be held on Aug. 1st at 10 a.m. at Valley Center Cemetery. The guest book will be available at the graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Little Ripper Scholarship Fund in care of Emprise Bank in Valley Center, Kan.
