Alma R. Snodgrass, 93, died May 8, 2015, at her home in Great Bend. She was born 5, 1921, at Wetmore, the daughter of William Riley and Louise Kathryn (Searing) Wright. She married Kenneth Lowell Armstrong June 15, 1939, at Wamego. He died Jan. 27, 1967. She then married Claude William Snodgrass Jan. 29, 1973, at Scott City. He died March 8, 1987. She had been a Great Bend resident since 2004, coming from Garden City, and was engaged in farming.
Mrs. Snodgrass was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend; and American Legion Post 9, and Garden City Historical Society, both of Garden City. She attended First Street Church of God, Hoisington.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Wayne Armstrong and his wife Jeannie of Mesa, Ariz., and Gregory Lynn Armstrong and his wife Rebecca of Great Bend; son-in-law Johnny Linscott of Allen, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Sue Linscott, five brothers, five sisters, and one granddaughter.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, at First Street Church of God in Hoisington with the Rev. Dick Ogle, officiant. Inurnment will be at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
