Almer A. Al Yost 1913-2013

Almer A. “Al” Yost, 99, died June 14 at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend.  Born July 31, 1913 at Topeka, he was the son of Almer A., Sr. & Lucy D. (Fiederling) Yost.
He married Marceline Marie Fergueson March 9, 1947 at Hugoton, KS.  She died December 28, 1999. Mr. Yost was a Great Bend resident since 1949 moving from Lyons. He was a United States Army veteran serving during WW II. He had attended the First Southern Baptist Church, Great Bend, and was a member of the American Legion Argonne Post 180, Kansas Oil and Gas Association, and was an inducted member of the Kansas Oil and Gas Hall of Fame. Mr. Yost was involved in all facets of the oil production industry, later owning and operating Yost Oil Company. For the last 17 years, he was an investor.
He is survived by a step daughter, Dorothy Caraway of Lufkin, Texas, and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marceline and step daughter, Bonnie Wyrick.
Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Great Bend Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Doyle Smith officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Riders
