Larned — Amy Louise Elmore, 94, passed away Oct. 29, 2017 at Diversicare of Larned. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Pawnee Rock, the daughter of Charles B. and Anna Spreier Lewis. A lifetime area resident, she was a farmwife, teacher and a reading specialist in the Rozel-Burdett area.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Rozel, American Baptist Women, Gideon Auxiliary and was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and handicrafts. On June 4, 1946 she married Jack Eldon Elmore in Rozel. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, George (Kay) Elmore, Larned and Karl Elmore, Rozel; three grandchildren, Scott Elmore, Wichita, Christina (Mike) Arnone, Kearney, Missouri, Amy Elmore, Rozel; six great-grandchildren, Kourinza Elmore, Lawrence, Jaydin Elmore, Wichita, Dominic Arnone, Marcus Arnone, Vincent Arnone, all of Kearney, Missouri and Abigail Wanker, Larned. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rev. Eldon L. Elmore; daughter-in-law, Susan Elmore and a granddaughter, Stacy Elmore Berends.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Stan Bryant presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rozel Baptist Church or The Gideon’s International in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477 Larned, Kansas 67550.
