GREAT BEND — Andrew J. Crawford, Sr., 84, died Sept. 3, 2013 at the Ellsworth County Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 5, 1928 at Nuyaka, Okla., the son of Andy William and Dorothy Mary (Slankard) Crawford.
He married Melva Thomas July 24, 1947 at Okemah, Okla.   
He worked for Sunflower Dairy, Western Music and Vending, and Coca-Cola Bottling, and owned APCO, Vickers, and the Alcove Supper Club.
Mr. Crawford was a Great Bend resident since 1950, coming from Fairfax, Okla. He loved his family and playing pool.
Survivors include his wife, Melva Crawford, of the home; four sons, Andrew Crawford, Jr. and his wife Diana, Avon, Ind.; Steve Crawford and his wife Marcia, Great Bend; David M. Crawford, Sr. and his wife Patty, Great Bend; and Kenneth Crawford, Hutchinson; four daughters, Judy L. Vasquez, Great Bend; Betty Adams, Great Bend; Brenda Langston and her husband Roger, Holyrood; and Sue Schridde and her husband David, Taneyville, Mo.; four sisters, Loretta Honeywell of Oklahoma, Eleanora Boyer of Texas, Kay Brian of Oklahoma and Sue Howard of Oklahoma; a brother, Gene Crawford, Henryetta, Okla.; 39 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joseph Luis Vasquez; a brother, William Crawford; a sister, Wanda Lee Oglesby; a grandson, Jeremy Adams, and a great-grandson, Matthew Wyatt Beesley.
Funeral Service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with The Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time, Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
