LARNED — Arline I. Byrum, 86, died Oct. 1, 2013 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned.
Born July 26, 1927, in Hodgeman County, she was the daughter of Bert R. and Bertha Smith Jones. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and retired from the Larned State Hospital. On June 15, 1945, she married James R. Byrum in Hodgeman County. He passed away in 1980. On Nov. 25, 1986, she married George Alvin Byrum in Dallas, Texas. He passed away July 23, 1989.
Mrs. Byrum attended the First United Methodist Church in Larned.
Survivors include, three sons, Jim Byrum, Dodge City; Ronnie Byrum, Wichita; Dean Byrum, Grove, Okla.; a brother, Raymond Jones, Warsaw, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Iline Cox; a brother, Dennis Jones; and a great-grandson, Christian Byrum.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned, with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Larned in care of the funeral home.
