 RUSH CENTER — Arlyn C. Solomon, 77, died Nov. 15, 2015, at Autumn Wood in Claremore, Okla. Born Aug, 3, 1938, in Bison, he was the son of Carl Solomon and Dora (Goatley) Solomon. He was a longtime resident of Rush County before moving to Inola, Okla., in 2012.  He was a 1956 graduate of La Crosse High School. On May 25, 1960, he married Karla Misegadis at Hope Lutheran Church in Rush Center. On June 8, 1963, he graduated from Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, Georgia.  He was the General Manager of the Golden Belt Telephone Association before his retirement.
Mr. Solomon was a veteran of the United States Army Signal Corps, stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, from 1957-1959. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Buckeye State Network, Board of Directors of Western Rural Telephone Association, Board of Directors of KINNI Kansas Independent Cellular, Advisory Director of Farmers Bank and Trust, Secretary of the Board for the Kansas DBS Direct TV LLC, President of the Board for the State Independent Telephone Association of Kansas, and Advisory Committee member for the Northwest Kansas Area Vocational-Technical School of Communication Technology. He was a USD 395 School Board member for eight years, member of the Rush Center Lions Club, member of the Rush County Jaycees, and President, Financial Secretary, Member and Sunday School Teacher at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center.
Survivors include, his wife, Karla Solomon of Inola, Okla.; one son, Carlyn Solomon (Chris), of Chicago, Ill.; one daughter, Dilene Crockett (Jerry), of Inola, Okla.; three grandchildren, Jerod Solomon (Laura), of Napa, Calif., Jessica Martindale (Kyle), of Nashville, Tenn., and Julia Solomon, of New York, N.Y.; two brothers, Jerry Solomon (Myrna), of Great Bend, and Dennis Solomon (Agnes), of Rush Center; two sisters, Genita Hughes, of La Crosse, and Rita Geisler (Dave), of West Moreland; one brother-in-law, Doug Misegadis (Marcia), of North Platte, Neb.; and two sisters-in-law, Karleen Freeman, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Debra Bolt, of Jonesboro, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jacob Solomon; and one sister-in-law, Linda Apodaca.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Hope Lutheran Church in Rush Center, with Pastor Shelly Klingensmith officiating. Interment will be at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Rush Center. Visitation, with the family present, will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
