CLAFLIN — Arthur E. Hager, 85, died May 26 at home in Claflin. He was born June 25, 1928, the son of  Andrew Arthur and Gladys (Fouts) Hager.
Arthur married Sallie A. Neal Aug. 18, 1953 at Hoisington.  She survives. Arthur served in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean Conflict.
He was an electrical lineman for Lane Scott Electric for 35 years until retirement.
Mr. Hager was a Claflin, resident since 2004 coming from Dighton. He attended the Claflin United Methodist.   
Survivors include wife: Sallie A. Hager, of the home; four daughters: Vickie Oeser and husband Randy of Claflin, Debra Hager of Wichita, Cathy Soeken and husband Matt of Claflin, Sandra Jo Hager of Wichita; half brother: Ed Husler of Boulder, Colo.; half sister: Janice Collins of Norwalk, Calif.: five grandchildren:  Rachelle Stratmann, Christina Hayes, Sara Eller, Ryan Oeser and Ross Oeser; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Arthur Hager, mother, Gladys (Fouts) Hager Husler, and by his sister, Juanita Smith.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 30 at the United Methodist Church, Claflin, with the Rev. Gene Langhofer officiating. Interment will be at Claflin Cemetery with military rites by United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation is from 1-8 p.m., Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Barton County Transfer Service or Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
