Barbara Beth Adms, 91, died March 4, 2015. Born April 22, 1923, in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Wilbur Floyd and Hilda Leola (Christiansen) Bryant. On Oct. 11, 1946, she married Harry Hugh Adams in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend since 1946, coming from Ellinwood, she was an office clerk for the State of Kansas Agriculture Office and was a homemaker. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Mrs. Adams was a volunteer for the USO during World War II. She was a member of First Christian Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband, Harry H. Adams, of the home; two sons, Kent Adams of Hutchinson, and Lynn Adams of Bison; two daughters, Brenda Ybarra of Mound Valley, and Gale Adams Briscoe of Wichita; one sister, Lucille Kurtz of Larned; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Bryant; one sister, Ruby Wilson; and one grandson, Kyle Tomey.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at the First Christian Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Joshua Leu officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., today at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First Christian Church or Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home.
