COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. — Barbara Louise Knupp Lucas passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Life Care of Collegedale, Tenn. She was 83 years old. She was born in Larned on Nov. 21, 1930, to E. V. and Irene Hall Knupp. She graduated from Larned High School with the Class of 1948. She married Jon K. “Pete” Lucas in Larned. They lived in Kansas, Maryland, Colorado, Michigan, Tennessee and Louisiana. She was a resident of Slidell, La., for over 30 years before moving to Collegedale, Tenn., in 2010.
Survivors include a son Grady Lucas of Baltimore Md., a daughter Nancy Senn of Cleveland Tenn., two sisters, Alberta Cousino of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jan Trowbridge of Wichita; and brother Daniel Knupp of Wamego. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, as well as an infant daughter, Kelly Jo Lucas.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation with family present will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday. Private family inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery in Larned.
