Bernice C. Huslig

Bernice C. Huslig, 87, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Catholic Care Center in Wichita. Bernice was born November 3, 1933, in Beaver the daughter of John and Margaret (Boor) Schneweis. 

She was united in Marriage to Paul Huslig May 9, 1964 in Great Bend.

Bernice was a lifetime resident of Barton County. She was a Medical Technologist at CKMC and Clara Barton Hospital. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St Patrick Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabela, and the altar society.  Her faith was very important to her. She was a foster mother for Catholic Social Service. She enjoyed baking, reading, and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband Paul; daughters Paula Wierman and husband Thomas of Wichita, and Ruth Huslig of Great Bend; brothers, Francis Schneweis and wife Karen of Guymon, OK, Butch Schneweis and wife Toni of Hoisington, sisters Dorothy Maneth of Great Bend and Mary Lou Stewart and husband Les of Great Bend; four grandchildren Hope Huslig, Christopher, Molly and Justin Wierman; one sister-in-law Sandy Schneweis of Claflin, and three brother-in-law’s Jim Klug, Everett Hitschmann both Hoisington and Jim Nimmo. She was preceded in death by her son Maurice, brothers Leo, and Gerald Schneweis, sisters Marge Hitschman, Rita Klug and Judy Nimmo.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with vigil service and D of I rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, Father Don Bedore presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. The Family requests those in attendance please wear masks and social distance.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Family School Endowment or Brain Tumor Research, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
