Bernice L. (Walters) King, 80, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on Nov. 20. She was born May 27, 1934, in Catherine, to Marcellus and Severina (Karlin) Walters.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Foraker, Derry, N.H., and Craig (Connie) Foraker, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two daughters, Lynnae (Lyle) Bryant, Ellinwood, and Shannon (Eric) Royer, Otis; one sister, Rita (Frank) Stramel, Glen Elder; five grandchildren, Patrick and Kevin Foraker, Erik Warnken, Traci Brackbill, and Elizabeth Royer; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, LeRoy Walters, Dennis Walters and Richard Walters.
A graveside service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays. Visitation is scheduled from 1-6 p.m. Friday at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Golden Belt Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.minnischapel.org.
