Betty J. Edman, 91, passed away on June 26, 2018, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born on April 10, 1927, in Emporia, to Leonard and Bernice (McEnterfer) Stafford. She married Maurice Doolen “Dooley” Edman on Feb. 27, 1954, in Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on March 29, 2011.
Coming from McPherson in 1956, Betty worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, legal aide and nurse, for several years in Great Bend. She held long term employment with Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company and Marlette Homes, Inc. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jobs Daughters, the Oil Secretaries Association, Desk and Derrick, Secretaries Club and Beta Sigma Phi. Betty loved the outdoors, enjoyed having lots of flowers and had many different hobbies.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Bryant Funeral Home. Graveside Service and burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery on Thursday, June 28. 2018 at 3 p.m., with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding.
