Betty J. Kramer, 84, died Aug. 31 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. She was born April 6, 1930 at Otis, the daughter of Julius and Amelia (Georg) Muth.
Betty married Bennie Thomas Gitgood in 1946 in Great Bend, and they were later divorced.  She then married Valentine “Smokey” Kramer in 1961 in Great Bend.  He died in 1996.
Mrs. Kramer was a Great Bend resident since 1943 coming from Otis. Betty was a long time housekeeping employee at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son: Bobby Gitgood of Great Bend; two daughters: Bonnie Maurer and husband Tom of Pine Hill, N.J. and Barbara Stewart of Montgomery, Texas; one sister: Opal Jones of Great Bend; four grandchildren:  Jamie Clawson-Young, Corey Clawson, Brad Maurer, and Debbie Maurer; and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Gulledge and Nadine Clark.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. on Thursday at Great Bend Cemetery in Great Bend with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Susan G.
