ELLINWOOD — Betty Lee Scheufler, 89, died Sept. 17, 2014 at her home in Ellinwood.
Born on Sept. 1, 1925, in Windom, she was the daughter of William and Nevada (Paige) Leeper. On Nov. 15, 1945, she married Emil W. Scheufler. He died Feb. 15, 1984.
Betty’s gift was her heart for the Lord and sharing that love with all she knew. She gave of herself by supporting caring and praying for family and friends. Music was always an important part of her life and she enjoyed seeing her family sing, play and perform. Her love of sports, especially football and basketball, grew from Emil’s, David’s, and grandchildren’s participation and fondness of sports.
Survivors include three daughters Donna Nei and Joyce Gookin, both of Thornton, Colo., and Annette Viner, LayCygne. Other survivors include Jason, Jeremy, Jodi Scheufler, Megan and Harrison Viner. Great-grandchildren include Ellis, Emerson, Harper, and Kellen Scheufler. Nothing brought more smiles and joy than being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Emil Scheufler; a son, David Norman and two infant sons; five sisters; five brothers; and a son-in-law.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the First Baptist Church South of Ellinwood with Pastor David Wesner presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin- Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood.
