HOISINGTON— Betty June (Nuss) Schneider, 90, died June 16 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.  Born June 24, 1923 at Enid, Okla., she was the daughter of Harmon P. and Leda M. (Athey) Sheeler.
Betty married Raymond Nuss Aug. 8, 1942, at Enid, Okla. He died Nov. 20, 1980.  She then married Alvin Schneider September 17, 1982 at Hoisington.  He died June 16, 1994.  She was a Hoisington, Kansas resident since 1943 coming from Chandler, Okla.  She was a bank clerk for Hoisington National Bank for 22 years, retiring in 1982.  She also worked at Safeway Grocery Store and C.O. Mammels, and previously co-owned and operated the Cardinal Plaza Dress Shop.  Betty was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Emmanuel Women of the ELCA, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary, all of Hoisington.  She was known by her beloved family and friends as an avid cook, seamstress, bowler, and gardener.
Survivors include one son, Raymond “Wally” Nuss and his wife LeAnn of Hoisington; one daughter, Pat Aylward and her husband James of Goddard; four sisters: Lorene Edna Woodman, Joan Schoenecke, Gloria Allen, and Phyllis Soldano, all of Washington state; one brother, J.B. Sheeler of Temple, Texas; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren:  Jaime Orth and her husband Ted, and their children, Emma, Olivia, and Victoria; Shelly Schneider and her husband Keith, and their children Alaina and Suzanna; Amy Brewer and her husband Shawn, and their children Garrett Johnson, Jenna Johnson, and Lauren Johnson; Christopher Nuss; Jimmy Aylward and his wife Stacey, and their children Samuel and Sadie; Aaron Warrick and his wife Natalie, and their children Gabe and Nicholas; Tisha Armatys and her husband Mike, and their children Peyton and Dylan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harmon Sheeler, Jr., Dell Sheeler, and Paul Sheeler; and two sisters, Patsy Sheeler and Pauline Skates.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington, officiated by Rhonda Templing, PMA.  Interment will be at Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to Clara Barton Hospital Foundation in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Box 146, Hoisington, KS  675440.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net .
