ALVIN, Texas — Beverly K. Fuhr (Tomlin), 72, resident of Alvin, Texas, passed away Aug. 18. She was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Great Bend, to parents Gerald R. Tomlin and Frances Whorton Tomlin. She attended Great Bend High School. She was baptized a Methodist in Kilgore, Texas. Beverly worked at the Great Bend Wal-Mart for 19 years, and also at the Great Bend Senior Center for five years. On Sept. 14, 1987, she married Kurt Herbert Fuhr in Great Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and son, Robert Dale Howell. She is survived by her husband, Kurt H. Fuhr; daughter, Bunny Jo Bennett and husband James; son, Spencer Allen Howell and stepson, Scott Joe Fuhr; grandchildren, Barney, Heather and Bonny Bennett, Robert and Anthony Haston, Clarissa, Justin and Joshua Howell; great-grandchildren, Carter Bennett, Harley Gates, Mitchell Bennett, Damon Capps, Nicholas Bennett and Maddie Flaherty. The family will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Burial will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Houston SPCA or the Lung Foundation for COPD. Beverly lived a good life and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service for Mrs. Fuhr will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the First Southern Baptist Church Annex in Great Bend. Don Paden will be the officiant.
