LARNED — Billy Wayne Kimble Sr., 73, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, in Larned. Billy was born on July 13, 1946, in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of Donnie and Willie Mae (Turner) Kimble. He married Beverly Powell on July 1, 1994, in Larned.
Billy was a Larned resident since 1973, coming from Great Bend. He was formerly of Hoisington, and was a Laundry Supervisor at Larned State Hospital for 33 years. He was a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Billy graduated from Hoisington High School with the class of 1965, and was a prominent runner for the Hoisington High track team, setting many records. He was an avid fisherman, and loved being with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of the home; two sons, Billy Kimble Jr. and wife Sarah, of Paola, and Daniel Kimble, of Larned; four daughters, Michelle and companion Ashley Kimble, of Columbia, MO., Bridget Johnson and husband Robert, of Dallas, Texas, Heather Coulter, of Wichita, Maggie Patrick and husband Greg, of Cullison; one brother, Richard Kimble, of Great Bend; six sisters, Stella Smith, Lola Daniels, Shirl Kimble, Mordie Kimble, and JoAnn Davis, all of Arkansas, and Betty Thies, of Salina; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, also at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Leroy Keith and Pastor Damon Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Hoisington Cemetery, with military rites by the US Army Honor Guard from Fort Riley.
