Bonnie Lee (Mousel) Connell 1932 - 2018

CLAFLIN — Bonnie Lee (Mousel) Connell, 85, of Claflin, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born Sept. 7, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Leo M. and Daisy B. (Biggerstaff) Mousel.
Bonnie grew up in Sioux City, Iowa and graduated from Central High School and attended Wayne State College. She married Richard R. “Dick” Connell July 5, 1952 in Marysville, Kan. Bonnie worked at DS&W Well Service for many years, retiring in 1998. She loved watching sports, enjoyed following her grandkids and great-grandkids activities and following local athletes. She also loved her football, especially her Nebraska Huskers and Kansas City Chiefs. She was a member of Claflin United Methodist Church. Bonnie always loved to drive her yellow mustang.
She is survived by her husband Dick, of the home; son, Mark Connell and his wife, Kim of Claflin; daughter, Carol McAtee and her husband, Travis of Great Bend; daughter-in-law, Belinda Connell, Claflin; ten grandchildren, Jessica Keeton (Mark), Kipp Connell (Brooke), Addie Cullen (Jeff), Kandice Thurman (Nate), Krystal Hickel (Dustin), Becca Duncan (Dave), Kyler Connell (Kristan), Reed McAtee (Callie), Keyton McCombs (Joe) and Gage McAtee and 18 great-grandchildren, Graecyn, Ellie and Tenley Keeton, Chance and West Connell, Adrian and Molly Cullen, Kimber and Kaptin Thurman, Hagen, Huxton and Holden Hickel, Devin, Elaina and Jack Duncan, Hannah and Sloane Connell and Haven McAtee. She was preceded in death by two sons Steve and Mike; and brother Robert Mousel.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. July 24, 2018, with family present to greet friends 6 to 8 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. July 25, 2018 at Claflin United Methodist Church with Rev Gene Langhofer officiating. Burial will follow at Claflin Cemetery.
