GREAT BEND — Brenda Ann Barger, 58, died June 25, 2015, at her home in Great Bend.
She was born Sept. 17, 1956, at Salina, to Bob Bruce and Beverly Ann (Holdren) Burgard. She married Steve Barger Nov. 21, 1992, at Great Bend. A Great Bend resident since 1979, coming from Salina, she was a homemaker and foster mother.
Mrs. Barger was a member of CrossPoint Church, dedicating much of her time to the church.
Survivors include her husband Steve, of the home; three sons, Kevin Talbert and his wife Sarah of Wichita, Bryan Barger and his wife Erin, Mountain Home, Idaho; and Michael Barger and his wife Anna, Lawrence; two daughters, April Talbert, Great Bend; and Fairrah Haberman and her husband Dale, Seward; two sisters, Barbara Jo Holzman, Wichita; and Sharon DeBriere of Florida; a brother, Barry Bruce Burgard; and six grandchildren, Cody Haberman, Haley Haberman, Nicole Haberman, Jay Smith, Hollis Talbert, and Archer Talbert.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Burgard; her mother and step-father, Beverly and Robert Kauffman; and one infant brother, Brently J. Burgard.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at CrossPoint, SE 20 Road and U.S. 281, south of Great Bend, with Pastor Clay Boepple, officiant. Inurnment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, at a later date.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to CrossPoint-Great Bend Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
