Brett Meyers 1964 - 2015

LARNED — Brett Meyers, 51, passed away on Oct. 17, 2015, in Newton. He was born in Larned on June 14, 1964, the son of Terry and Betty Meyers. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1982, and graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business.
Brett was a farmer and worked for Ward Feed Yard and ILS Farms for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching the girls Renegades softball team in Larned, and he served as the secretary and treasurer of the Pawnee County Township. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially during the holidays, when he would host many friends during the hunting season.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Victor and Hilda Meyers and John and Helen Berscheidt, and his cousin Amy Suiter. He is survived by parents Terry and Betty Meyers of Newton; his daughter Shaylee Meyers and her fiance Storm Mosher of Lakin; sister Jill Griswold and her husband Ed; his two nieces To ria and Jentry Griswold; and nephew Easton Griswold of Newton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is loved by many and will be missed forever. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 24, at Beckwith Funeral Home in Larned. Lunch will follow the service at the Zook community building. The internment will be held after lunch at the Ellinwood Cemetery at approximately 3 p.m. Memorial funds will be given to the Shaylee Meyers educational fund in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, 916 Main, Larned, KS 67550.
