C. Walter McGowan 1940-2012

PAWNEE ROCK — C. Walter McCowan, 71, died April 3, 2012, at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
He was born June 10, 1940, in Audrain County, Mo., the son of Junior and Nadine Burnett McCowan.  
A resident of Pawnee Rock since 1983, previously of West Texas, he was owner and operator of Santa Fe Mercantile Antiques.
He served in the National Guard. On August 15, 1997, he married Linda Stoki Burch at Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sara Boyer, Rush, Colo.; and Dorian Frances, Pawnee Rock; two brothers, Carl Ray McCowan, Thompson, Mo.; and John McCowan, Fulton, Mo.; two sisters, Rheba Ryan and Marjorie Hudson, both of Centralia, Mo.; three grandsons and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Marty Ray McCowan.  
Memorial service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5851 Eisenhower, Great Bend, with Bishop Greg Perez presiding. Cremation has taken place. There is no visitation.
