ELLINWOOD — Carl Marcus Fox, 89, died March 23, at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson.  Born Charles Orman Bear on March 5, 1926 at Cortez, Colo., he was the son of Orman and Philomena (Swan) Bear, he was later adopted by Clarence M. “Bud” Fox and his name changed to Carl Marcus Fox.
He married Catherine Rupert Jan. 1, 1949 at Pueblo, Colo. They later divorced. He then married Billie Jean Webber June 4, 1997 at Westcliffe, Colo., She died Oct. 28, 2002.
Mr. Fox was an Ellinwood resident the past two years, moving to be close to his daughter and her family.  He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.  Mr. Fox was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include one son, Carl Fox II and his wife Murial of Fiji; one daughter, Linda McCaffery of Ellinwood; one sister, Zelma Jean Cooley of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two grandchildren: Aaron McCaffery and Renee and  Patrick McCaffery and Angie; and four great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family graveside inurnment at a later date in Rosita Cemetery, Rosita, Colo. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
